Description
Decision making by the poor for their own development is necessary for eradicating poverty. These are sustainable processes for overcoming poverty. In this book, after describing each of the different interventions that reduced poverty, a summary is presented towards the end to list out the various individual strategies that contributed to reducing poverty. Both authors are students of prestigious institutions of learning worldwide. The first author, Dr Rajaratnam Abel, who founded the Rural Unit for Health and Social Affairs or RUHSA in its acronym, handed over the institution to the second author, Dr Daleep Mukarji, who was his successor. In recognition of his work in reducing poverty, Dr Daleep Mukarji was awarded the Order of the British Empire. Policymakers, administrators of government and NGOs, funding agency personnel and educationists and economists would grab hold of a copy of this book without any hesitation.
